Red Blend - BlouVlei

A blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon (giving structure), 22% Merlot (giving elegance), 3% Shiraz (for a combination of spice and smokiness). 1% Cabernet Franc (the final touch of mother earth).  50% of the wine was matured in stainless steel tanks with a mixture of French and American oak staves and 50% in French barrels for 11 months.  This is a well balanced, medium bodied wine with a good structure.  The nose is floral yet with hints of hazelnut.  The wine is fruit driven with intense layers of ripe dark berries with has a lingering but velvety finish.
